Crop Production
Performance of Rice Transplanter in Farmers fields
The results of the trial conducted at 5 locations indicated that the increase in yield in rice transplanted with Rice Transplanter (6435kg /ha) is slightly higher (5.9%) when compared to farmers practice (6075 kg / ha) and also there is slight variation in Cost benefit ratios (1:0.96 & 1:0.78).
Weed management in drill sown rice in Nellore
The results of the trial conducted at 5 locations indicated that the increase in yield in weed management in drill sown rice (5274 kg /ha) is higher (8.38%) when compared to farmers practice (4866 kg / ha) and it reflected in Cost benefit ratios (1:2.63 & 1:2.28) also
Performance of direct sown rice during Rabi in Nellore
The trial was conducted at 5 locations indicated that there was a slight decrease in yield (-0.13 %) of direct sown rice (5286 kg/ha) when compared to transplanting rice (5293kg/ha) but there was a variation in cost benefit ratios (1:2.54 & 1:2.33).
Plant Protection:
Control of stem rot disease in Rice
Control measures for stem rot in Rice, conducted at 5 locations revealed that the spraying with Propiconazole @ 1ml/lit of water at the time of Panicle initiation and 15 days after panicle initiation has recorded more yield (5310 kg/ha) when compared to spraying with Hexaconazole @ 2ml/lit of water (5104 kg/ha) and spraying with carbendazim @1g/L (4953 kg/ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:1.64, 1:1.51 and 1:1.40 respectively.
Control measures for grain discoloration in late Kharif rice
Control measures for grain discoloration in Rice conducted at 5 locations revealed that the spraying with Spraying of Profenophos @ 2ml/lit of water + Propiconazole @1ml/lit of water at Panicle initiation and boot leaf stage has recorded more yield (5525 kg/ha) when compared to spraying with Dicofol @ 3ml/lit of water + Propiconazole @1ml/lit of water. The cost benefit ratios were 1:1.80, 1:1.66 and 1:1.53 respectively.
Horticulture
Introduction of Annual drumstick
The trial was conducted at 5 locations. The results of the trial conducted at 5 locations indicated that the Annual drumstick (PKM-1) has recorded highest yield (15.60 t / ha) when compared to local variety (12.90 t / ha) i.e. 21.13 % more over local variety.The cost benefit ratios were 1:2.83 and 1:2.04 respectively.
Management of Micronutrient disorders in Acidlime
Management of Micronutrient disorders in Acidlime revealed that the spraying of Feso4 2.5 gm/l, Borax2.0 gm/l, Zinc Sulphate 5 gm/l, lime 4.0 gm/l has recorded more yields (1437fruits/tree) when compared with the treatment with spraying of Zinc Sulphate : 5 gm/l;Magnesium Sulphate : 2 gm/l; Ferrous Sulphate : 2.5 gm/l;Manganese Sulphate : 2.0 gm/l;Borax : 2.0 gm/l;Lime : 4.0 gm/l;Urea : 10.0 gm/l; (1390 fruits/tree) and the farmers practice (1184fruits/tree ) with C:B ratios of 1:2.38, 1:2.22 and 1:2.02 respectively.
Management of YVMV in Bhendi
The results of the trial conducted at 5 locations indicated that the seed treatment with Carbosulfan + weed control around the field + Stem application of systemic insecticides (Imidachloprid) + need based application of systemic insecticides (Imidachloprid) was recorded more yields(5335 kg/ha) when compared to seed treatment with Carbosulfan + weed control around the field + use of systemic insecticides (Imidachloprid) for control of vectors(4915 kg/ha) and the farmers practice without seed treatment (4055 kg/ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:2.77, 1:2.11 and 1:1.36 respectively.
Dieback Management in Chilli
Dieback Management in Chilli conducted at 5 locations indicated that the spraying of Copper hydroxide 2ml /lt+ Streptocyclin 0.1 gm/lt has recorded more yields (48.6 q/ha) compared to spraying of Mancozeb 2.5g/lt + Streptocyclin 0.1 gm/lt (47.6 q/ha) and spraying of mancozeb 3 g/L(45.0 q/ha) with C:B ratios 1:1.96, 1:1.75 and 1:1.56 respectively.
Fisheries
Effect of water quality in Shrimp culture
The results in 4 locations of trials indicate that the application of water sanitizers, plant derivatives along with water exchange & Lime application (T3) has shown 20.01% average increased yield (2463 kg /ha) over the farmers practice; water exchange of 50% with Lime application (T2) has shown 12.92% average increased yield ( 2315 kg /ha) over the farmers practice (2049 Kg/ha) with C:B ratios 1:2.36, 1:1.87 and 1:1.52 respectively.
Control measures for successful eradication of Argulus in Carp culture ponds
The results in 4 locations of trials, indicate that the application of Butox 100ml + Deltox 100ml + 50kg of natural salt + Turmeric powder 2kg / acre (T3) has shown 21.05% average increased yield (6904 kg /ha) over the farmers practice (Dichlorovos 200 ml /acre); application of Dipterex 0.3ppm (T2) has shown 12.22% average increased yield (6410 kg /ha) over the farmers practice (5701 Kg / ha) with C:B ratios 1:2.19, 1:1.89 and 1:1.47 respectively.
Comparison of mash feed with formulated pelleted feed in Carp culture
The results in 4 locations of trials indicate that the Feeding the carps with balanced formulated pelleted feed (T3) has shown 19.99% average increased yield (7323 kg/ha) over the farmers practice i.e. feeding the carps with only DOB; feeding the carps with DOB, Sunflower oil cake, Cotton seed oil cake and Groundnut oil cake at a ratio of 2:1:1:1 (T2) has shown 10.94% average increased yield (6769 kg/ha) over the farmers practice (6100 kg/ha) with C:B ratios 1:2.07, 1:1.82 and 1:1.49 respectively.

Crop Production:
Integrated Nutrient Management in Groundnut (Early Kharif)
The results of front line demonstrations on INM in Groundnut at 5 locations during Early Kharif indicated that Groundnut variety TAG - 24 (3364 kg / ha) has recorded 9.22% increase yield INM practice over farmers practice (3080 kg / ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:1.27 and 1:1.04 respectively.
Chemical weed management in Rice
The results of the trial conducted at 5 locations indicated that the increase in yield in rice weed management with chemicals (6880kg /ha) is higher (13.6%) when compared to farmers practice (6080 kg / ha). The Cost benefit ratios were 1:1.01 and 1:0.75 respectively.
Multiple component demonstration in Rice (Rabi)
The results of front line demonstrations on Multiple component demonstration (INM+IPM) in Rice at 5 locations during Rabi indicated that BPT 5204 variety (6376kg / ha) has recorded 12.7% increase yield over farmers practice (5660kg / ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:2.27and 1:1.29 respectively.
Multiple component demonstration in Sunflower (Rabi)
Multiple component demonstration (INM+IPM) in Sunflower with Kargil variety has recorded 2119 kg/ha with 15.5 % increase over Sunbred (1827 kg/ha) the check variety. The cost benefit ratios were 1:3.38and 1:2.28 respectively.
Harnessing pulse crop production (Blackgram)
The results of front line demonstrations on ICM in Blackgram at 30 locations during Rabi indicated that LBG-709 (862 kg / ha) has recorded 11.5% increase yield over farmers practice (773kg / ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:1.63and 1:1.37 respectively.
Plant Protection:
Integrated pest and disease management in Rice
The results of front line demonstrations on IPM and IDM in Rice at 5 locations during Early Kharif indicated that NLR -34242 (6790 kg / ha) has recorded 4.87% increase yield over farmers practice (6476 kg / ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:1.24 and 1:1.16 respectively.
Integrated Management of stem rot and lepidopteron insect pests in Groundnut
The results of front line demonstrations on IPM in Groundnut at 5 locations during Early Kharif indicated that Groundnut variety TAG-24 (3230 kg / ha) has recorded 6.0 % increase yield over farmers practice (3046 kg / ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:1.22and 1:1.03 respectively.
Horticulture
Multiple component demonstration in Brinjal
The results on Multiple component demonstration in Brinjal recorded an average yield of 36.68 t/ha compared to farmers practice 31.16t / ha. Increase in yield is 17.36%. C:B ratios are 1:1.78 & 1:1.26 respectively.
INM in Acid lime
The results of front line demonstrations on INM in Acid lime at 5 locations indicated that there was a 17.23 % increase in yield in treatment with INM (1526 Fruits/tree) when compared with farmer practice (1307 fruits/tree). The cost benefit ratios were 1:2.50and 1:1.97 respectively.
Management of Sucking and Lepidopteran Insect Pests in Chillies
The results of front line demonstrations on IPM in Chilli at 5 locations during rabi indicated that there was a 8.23 % increase in yield in treatment with IPM (46.74 q/ha) when compared with farmer practice (43.10 q/ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:2.63and 1:2.21 respectively.
Multiple Component Demonstration in Water Melon
The results of front line demonstrations on INM and IPM in Watermelon at 5 locations during rabi indicated that there was a 5.60 % increase in yield in treatment with IPM (15.5 t/ha) when compared with farmer practice (14.75 t/ha). The cost benefit ratios were 1:2.66and 1:2.13 respectively.
Fisheries
Improving yield in Carp culture by maintaining Plankton density and Colour
Trials conducted at four locations shown that the maintaining optimum plankton density and Colour by using organic and inorganic fertilizers with proper combinations has given 23.88% higher yield (7016 kg / ha) compared to the farmers practice (5666 kg /ha) with C.B ratios 1:2.30 & 1:1.59 respectively.
Improved culture of Vennamei as an alternate species in Brackishwater Aquaculture
Trials conducted at four locations shown that the Vennamei culture in failure shrimp ponds has given 118.44% higher yield (4405 kg/ha) over the farmers practice i.e. shrimp culture (2016 kg/ha) with C.B ratios 1:2.53 & 1:1.66 respectively.
Home Science
Popularization of nutrition garden to improve the micro nutrients
Demonstration on nutritional garden was conducted in 5 villages with two beneficiaries in each location. Approximately 64 Kg of green leafy vegetables and 52 Kg of other vegetables worth Rs. 950/- was produced within a period of 3 months. A great change in consumption pattern was observed. Now they are taking greens twice in a week and vegetables consuming regularly. Their health status was improved.
Effect of nutrition education in rural areas
This trial was conducted at 5 different Govt. schools in Indhukurpet, Devispet, Cherlayagarithopu, Nellore Rural and Kothur villages on 356 students. Pre and Post evaluation were conducted on Nutrition Education and it was found that their knowledge and attitudes were improved 46% in nutrition and 57% in health habits.
Performance of drudgery reducing hand implements
(a) Improved hand weeders
Conducted demonstrations at selected locations. In demonstrated plot, a person did weeding operation with improved hand weeders in ground nut field of 4 cents whereas with the traditional weeders a person weeded 2.5 cents of groundnut field in 4 hours. According to the farm women, they felt less drudgery while weeding in different crops.
(b) Headload manager:
This front line demonstration was conducted at 5 different locations. By using this instrument farm women can weigh the agricultural produce with less strain on the shoulders. Still there is a need to popularize this head load manager usage among farm women.
(c) Harvesting bag:
Harvesting bag was helpful in picking more quantity of cotton (4.34kg/30min) than the picking operation without using harvesting bag(2.44Kg/30 min). By using this harvesting bag, cotton picking efficiency was improved.
Vermi compost
This trail was conducted at 3 different locations. The results showed that there was a production of 12.25 kg of earth warms and 850 kg of vermi compost in 4 months duration in an area of 112.5 cut size pit.
